Description:
Yanapuma Spanish school is a unique, non-profit school whose proceeds benefit Yanapuma Foundation and its sustainable development projects in Ecuadorian communities. We strive to offer the most comfortable yet professional environment for learning Spanish, combining in-class learning with a wide variety of optional activities including culturally and socially oriented weekday and weekend excursions, community-based Spanish study and volunteering in poor barrios of Quito.
We are located at the edge of the Mariscal (New Town), with many restaurants, bars, and other tourist amenities a short walk from the school. The school offers free wireless internet access (with your laptop) or limited use of our computers, a language lab, TV and DVD player for watching Spanish movies and videos. All materials are included in our class price. We offer regular weekday and weekend excursions to places of interest both in and outside of Quito, and are happy to help students plan and book travels to other parts of Ecuador.

Spanish School Awesomeness
There are countless Spanish schools claiming to offer the best experience that tops all others, making it difficult to choose a school that fits one's Spanish-learning agenda. Yanapuma, however, is not one of them, which is what attracted me to them in the first place. There were no ads boasting the fabulousness of the school, no unrealistic pictures, and nothing that had a desperate please-give-us-your-money feel.
I banked on the assumption that Yanapuma would be a great place to study because not only is it a Spanish school, but there´s also the Yanapuma foundation, which, in short, happens to be some amazing do-gooders doing amazing, good things, and I wanted to be a part of this.
So, here I am, and Yanapuma Spanish has exceeded my expectations. The staff is knowleedgeable, friendly, and flexible. The students are outgoing, playful, and helpful. I think what other Spanish schools claim to be, Yanapuma actually IS and more.
The weekend excursions are to places that everyone wants to go when visiting Ecuador, but they go beyond the tourist experience that one would normally have. The school´s location is central and there are many surrounding places to explore and enjoy. The class material is relevant and tailored to the students´needs. The opportunity for amazing volunteer work abounds.
What more can I say? Really good, solid people, a sound learning environment with an emphasis on the student's language needs, and cultural experiences that are life-changing. This is Yanapuma Spanish School.
